About the Chef

Rob Porter, Chef Proprietor

Born in Scarborough, Rob has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants before opening his own venue in October 2006.

He has built up a first-rate team of experienced and qualified chefs and friendly and knowledgable front-of-house staff.

Rob has attended various food festivals, including the Ryedale Food Festival, York Food Festival, Bridlington Food Festival and Scarborough’s SeaFest.

He is keen to promote local, seasonal produce, including locally-brewed beers.

He works very closely with local suppliers, promoting the work they do. He uses :

Elaine Keith (Seamer Fayre), Peter Thundercliffe (Fruits of the Sea), Steve Chalmers (Betton Wines), Charles Ashburton ( Taste Tradition), and award-winning produce from Lowna Dairies, East Yorkshire.

Rob and the team welcome regular and new customers to their busy, friendly restaurant.
